For the 13th year, Kummer Financial Strategies donated another 100 new coats to Coats for Colorado! Through the annual Thanksgiving drive, KFS has purchased and donated over 1200 new coats for people in need on behalf of our wonderful clients. Tom Cole with 9News was on hand this year to record the piles of coats going to Dependable Cleaners for distribution. Join us in supporting this event each year in November.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s was a success and we appreciate your support! The KFS team and family members raised money and joined thousands of others in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in September 2017!
The 2017 KFS Shred event was a good opportunity to securely dispose of those sensitive papers!
KFS has conducted School Supply Drives to assist the Douglas County Educational Foundation.
KFS selects various charities each year to benefit from our collections and donations. Events include food and school supply drives for donations to the Colorado Food Bank, the Douglas County Task Force, Samaritan House, the Denver Rescue Mission and the Denver Children’s Home.
KFS has been working to educate the community by improving financial literacy for 30 years through Kummer Financial, Financial Planners of Colorado and the Financial Planning Association. Events include working in the schools to teach basic financial skills, donating time to churches and community centers to help with financial advice, working with Warren Village residents and the Mi Casa Center and the US Conference of Mayor’s Denver Financial Planning Days.

KFS President Patricia Kummer, CFP was interviewed by 9NEWS on August 8, 2011 by News Anchor, Mark Koebrich, and Will Ripley of the 9 Wants to Know Team. On the Money Line 9 segment, Patricia discussed the S&P downgrade of U.S. treasury bonds and the financial markets. The piece was broadcast on six newscasts running both August 8 and 9.
Patricia has been quoted in The Denver Post, the Rocky Mountain News, the Denver Business Journal, and COBIZ and has written a finance column for 24 years in the Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree papers. She has been interviewed on Channel 9, Channel 7 Beating the Recession, and volunteers on Channel 6 for the financial literacy campaign. Patricia has been an expert guest several times on KOA radio and on Channel 20 to help improve financial literacy.
KFS is a staunch supporter of the financial planning and investment industry volunteering many hours to be on steering committees and taking leadership roles in community outreach programs. Patricia Kummer has served as President and Chairman of the Colorado Financial Planning Association; served as Chairman of the Management Advisory Council for a large broker/dealer; mentors student CFPs; and is a constant advocate for financial education and full disclosure to the public.
